Our Story

Arcade Acres began its journey in 2012 as a tree and shrub farm. In the fall of 2017, the farm experimented by planting a small crop of garlic. However, the harvest did not meet expectations, which prompted a re-evaluation of their approach.

To improve results, Arcade Acres invested in green cover crops to enhance soil health, practiced crop rotation, and refined pre-planting techniques. By adding straw mulch to newly planted garlic, we succeeded in growing high-quality garlic.

Today, Arcade Acres cultivates more than 14 varieties of heirloom garlic, including both hardneck and softneck types. Their dried garlic product line—featuring dried sliced and powdered garlic—has become a top seller at local farmers markets and co-ops. Arcade Acres is currently developing four new dry rub powders, which they plan to offer online soon.

Alongside garlic production, Arcade Acres remains dedicated to sustainable farming and healthy soil stewardship. Each season brings fresh insights and innovations, furthering their commitment to cultivating heirloom garlic in a naturally balanced environment.

Arcade Acres participates in the Cuba Garlic Festival every year. This event provides an opportunity to engage with the public, answering questions about garlic varieties, planting techniques, and troubleshooting common issues. It’s a wonderful two-day event to meet face to face with so many garlic enthusiasts.
